Doug and Claire Fell lead the team that launched Parkhurst Community Church in 2013. Prior to that Doug served for several years at Rosebank Union Church before heading off to the USA for a year of church planting preparation. They have a busy family life with 3 delightful kids who keep them on their toes. They are both born and bred Joburgers’, and love serving God in this crazy city and seeing what He is up to. When they’re not busy with church stuff, they love getting away to the bush and they are both known to have an above average love of coffee.
Married to Nikki father to Josh (5) and Julia (3). From East London in the eastern cape, studied at Rhodes to be an accountant but on the advice of the Prof that it might not be my thing pursued a professional cricket career after university. My life’s motto was a bad day on the cricket field was better than a good day in the office. However by the age of thirty I found myself in a corporate environment having transitioned after cricket hopelessly lost and disillusioned with life. God in his grace broke into my life and set me on new trajectory which as a broke single living in digs studying theology wondering how I would ever get married was a little worrisome. God is gracious even to prematurely greying men in their mid-thirties. I met Nikki got married finished studies planted a church with some mates and have some money left to take my son to watch the Lions on the odd Saturday afternoon. I spend my holidays trying to catch fish in the Eastern Cape and convincing my wife it is way better then cape Town.
I am passionate about helping people reach their potential in life. In particular to live with true freedom and joy in Jesus and all that he has for them.
Tono and Francoise have been at PCC since its inception and have loved being part of this exciting journey God is taking our church on. They have been married since 2010, and in the midst of a difficult journey towards becoming parents, they were recipients of God’s grace by experiencing His love and faithfulness through pain and in being immeasurably blessed with two young daughters; Aeliana whose name means “God has answered my prayers” and Mireya, whose name means “miracle”. Tono and Francoise love spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoy building relationships that are deep and meaningful.
Tono is a full time investment professional and Francoise is a medical doctor, and while they serve and worship God through their professional vocations, they consider it a great privilege to have been called to serve His church as part of the Eldership team at PCC.
Pete and Carla Kropman have been married since 2005 and have been part of the PCC family since 2016. Prior to that, Pete served as an elder and gave a theological lead to GodFirst Church for 7 years. Having moved to Jo’burg from Cape Town in the early 2000’s, they love this city and are passionate about seeing the gospel take root in Parkhurst and surrounding suburbs. They have 3 amazing kids and enjoy travelling, cooking and anything active.
